This place is so nostalgic and comforting. First time I ate here was back in 2017 in the Downtown San Diego location. The servings are huge and it’s so delicious. We got the Dutch baby pancakes and this takes about 20+ mins.

You can’t miss the sweet appley aroma when you walk by the restaurant… That’s from our famous baked pancakes that have made Richard Walker’s unlike any other. These fluffy masterpieces are baked to order (10-20 minutes), but your patience will be rewarded! Please join us in celebrating our Bavarian roots and don’t leave Richard Walker’s without trying a baked pancake. Moved here recently and wanted to find a good breakfast spot. There was no wait time for a 2 top and our waiter Diego wasted no time.

We are Edmond and Merita Asllanaj, the owners and operators of Donald's Pancake House. We grew up in Albania, finished college, got married and decided it was time to find a better life for our family and get out from under communist rule. We made our move to Greece which we loved, but ultimately decided to move to Pennsylvania since we already had family members living there.

It is called Rasmus Klump Familierestaurant, after the Danish character "Rasmus Klump", whose favorite meal is pancakes. Came here during a weekend trip to San Diego with my wife, and decided to try the baked pecan Dutch pancake. OMG it was delicious and well worth the 20 minute wait for it. We’re actually planning on stopping by again before heading out LOL. Our bacon, sausages, hickory smoked ham and Canadian bacon are custom made for our operations only by local farms, and our fresh produce is sourced from local farmers as available. In cultures throughout the world, the rabbit symbolically indicates comfort, abundance and family.
After the move from up north, we had an opportunity to purchase a restaurant along the Grand Strand. By focusing on fresh, made to order food and exceptional service, our restaurant flourished. The success of our first restaurant lead to the purchase of two other restaurants. As the owners of Donald's Pancake House, we strive to offer the best service and food at affordable prices. This has lead to the restaurant winning "Best of the Beach" three times.
In 1996, Richard Sr. opened a second location in Crystal Lake, IL. In 2006, Richard Sr. relocated to San Diego and opened the third location in downtown San Diego, CA. In 2014, Richard Walker Jr. joined the family business and opened the fourth Richard Walker’s Pancake House in La Jolla, CA. In 2019 and 2020, Richard Jr. opened the fifth and sixth Richard Walker’s Pancake House in Carlsbad and Del Mar, CA, respectively.

Our food was delicious and came out quickly, but no so quick youd need to worry ? Diego was awesome, polite and stayed on top of everything despite us going at a busy time. Safe to say my husband and I found our breakfast spot.
